Big news!
Every year, Professional Remodeler conducts a national search for 40 remodeling professionals under the age of 40 who are blazing new trails in our industry. I'm incredibly honored to share the news that, this year, I am one of those 40 people. Here is a link to the list of 40:

So its been a while since my last post. Quite a bit has happened, which has kept me rather busy. Last you read, we put our house on the market. Well as it turns out, it wasn't on the market for very long.
A couple months back, we toured our nursery in the first ever Designed Happy house tour. Now that Pancake and I have decided to sell our house, there may not be much time left for additional tours (insert sad face emoji here). As such, I wanted to give you a tour of our modern take on a traditional farmhouse kitchen.
I recently moved to a different office in our suite, and being the kind of person who likes to put my stamp on things, I took this as an opportunity to have some fun. In this post, I'll show you the before and after of my office and then provide links so you can Steal This Look (because I'm nice like that).
A few weeks ago I showed you how to remodel a kitchen 2 different ways.....Pull & Replace is where everything is new, but the pieces stay in the same location, and Custom is where we do anything we can dream up. Today, we're applying that same concept to a master bathroom.
Happy New Year!!
I'm not much in to resolutions...why choose some arbitrary day of the year to start doing something good? If it's good or is something that needs to happen, start doing it today - like right now. With that in mind, let's take a look at the first phase of a remodeling project; that initial step that that gets you from the house you have now to the house you've always wanted. I love wall hung vanities for a number of reasons. I'll list them for you here (super convenient, right?):
Let's talk about kitchen remodeling.
Without adding space, remodeling your kitchen is probably the best way to affect how you and your family use your home. There are 3 different ways to remodel your kitchen: Are you interested in modern architecture? Are you interested in potentially making your house bigger one day? Would you like to combine the two previous questions and put a modern addition on your house? For most people these days, the answer to all 3 questions is yes. The big “but”
comes in some variation of, “But if I put a modern addition on my house, won’t it stick out like a sore thumb in my otherwise-traditional neighborhood?” Kitchen cabinets….everybody’s got ‘em. They come in all shapes, sizes, colors, and configurations. You can get full overlay, half overlay, frameless, inset, a bevy of different door styles, and about a nonillion color options (that’s a word, trust me). Today though, I want to skip the cabinet style discussion and take a look at something basic…how do you finish the top of your wall cabinets? |
