We are officially under construction! Pancake and I are standing in what will eventually be our yard - it will be 4 feet lower when we're done, but for now, it's a great perch to watch the progress from.

If there’s dirt, and an opportunity to run, my kids are there. They loved running around the excavated lot. For a bit of foreshadowing, they're running around our eventual basement in the picture above.
The trees are out, and it's starting to look like there could actually be a house here one day! Things are happening a lot faster now, let me walk you through what we're looking at.
I mean, c'mon. Look at those two! Supes adorbs, right? They LOVE big machines. Now that we're finally at the point where we have all of our permits and can start construction, we have the opportunity to show them big machines - a lot of them. Starting with the ones being used to take our trees down...
Pretty descriptive title, right? Well whether you’re looking to build a house on your new land, a new family room addition, remodel a kitchen, or repair an old porch, you have options. And those options are largely dependent on the type of thing you are building.
All land is created equal, right? No, most definitely not. That is very, very wrong. But all land in the same neighborhood is created equal? Again, not at all. Ok, then certainly all land on the same street is created equal, though? Umm, no. Same block? No again. Same side of the street? Not a chance. Let’s cut to it…It would be extremely rare to find two equal pieces of land. There are just too many variables. Here’s where you ask what the variables are. So its been a while since my last post. Quite a bit has happened, which has kept me rather busy. Last you read, we put our house on the market. Well as it turns out, it wasn't on the market for very long.
