We have a (really) big hole

If there’s dirt, and an opportunity to run, my kids are there.  They loved running around the excavated lot.  For a bit of foreshadowing, they're running around our eventual basement  in the picture above.

To show you just how big this hole is, here are a couple of pictures with​ Pancake and the kids in them (brush off your Where's Waldo skills):

Could you find them?  Was my post title accurate?  Based on the pics, it looks like the house will be crazy enormous.  It won't be.  The hole is always bigger than the house - the foundation crew needs room to get the forms in and out.  

Next week, we will officially start construction when the footers get poured.  We'll have a much better sense of the size of the house then.
