We were at a prior-to-the-schoolyear preschool playdate this morning, and one of the other parents told me that her friend follows this blog. It made me so happy to hear. When I look at the web traffic for the site, there are many people who passively follow - no problem with this, obviously, I love to have people spending their time with me, but sometimes I feel like I'm writing to no one. It was nice to hear that this friend loves the blog and following our house progress, so thank you friend, and thank you other pre-k parent for sharing - it made my day. While we were talking about the blog, the other parent was also asking what Designed Happy does, and how that differs from what I do at Case. So I thought I would take a minute to describe the differences: Case Design Remodeling My title at Case is Director of Project Development, which basically means that I come to your house when you're ready to talk about a remodeling project, and help in every facet of that project from design through construction, and extending through the warranty. My job is to make sure your new space looks beautiful and the process is as easy and seamless as possible. Case is a design/build firm that does not offer stand-alone design services, which is where we can start to talk about... :Designed Happy :DH is obviously a blog, but it is also a vehicle for me to help people who are looking for design services. Those people may not be ready to build the project, or maybe they're in the construction business or know someone who is, or already have a relationship with a contractor. Whether it's through Case or :DH, my goal on every project is to make you happier. There are specific ways I do that on both macro and micro levels. At some point in the near future, I'll go into detail on what those ways are (and stay tuned for BIG plans re: happiness at home). If you like what you've seen on the site, and are interested in talking about doing something at your house, give me a shout. Initial consultations are always free, and I'll help you figure out the best path to getting you a new, happier space. I'm "the friend". Love the blog. Also guilty of detouring my errand route so I can drive by and see the progress!
