The walls are framed, which can only mean one thing...it's time for another delivery of wood. This time, the roof trusses. Like the floor joists and exterior walls, the trusses were built in a factory and delivered to the site, which makes installation pretty quick. I was standing on the driveway when I took this picture. You can see the two garage door openings. The two windows above that are in the master suite - small one in the bedroom, big one in the office. It makes me so happy seeing the house come together like this. I've designed a lot of different things over the last 12 years - kitchens, bathrooms, additions, houses, you name it. I never get tired of the day when you can actually see the design come together. The moment when that thing I've been drawing, deliberating on, and studying, finally starts to come off the paper and gets translated into something real. It's a total trip and I love it :D Here's the drawing we've been staring at for 8 months: And now, Pancake and I in front of the house with the roof framed!!!
