The forms are off! You can still see the rebar sticking out from the top of the foundation wall like we saw last time. Once we're ready for the second foundation wall pour, the rebar will end up covered. You'll also notice we have some plumbing roughed in! I love progress. It's for the main waste pipe coming down from the first and second floors, the bathroom in the basement, and the floor drain in the mechanical room. It will all be covered by the basement slab. Let's see what this looks like from the eventual driveway: And a little farther left - toward the corner of the lot: The black stuff painted onto the foundation wall is for water proofing. Trying to keep that basement dry, ya know? OK, would you like to take the first look inside the house, in what will eventually be the basement? Silly question? I know. The mechanical room will be along the back wall; the window opening on the left will be in the bedroom; the stairs will come down on the right; and I'm standing in what will be the open area of the basement, where Stinky Face and Monkey will hopefully enjoy many years of polite and respectful play time (fingers crossed).
