WHY
I don't typically offer design services through Designed Happy. When people ask if I can, my answer is, "that's not really what this business was set up to do." However, there are certain occasions where it makes sense to (and enough people have asked that I feel silly saying no all the time). So if you're reading this, this is one of those occasions.
WHAT
So, we've already had a lovely chat at your consult and came up with some great ideas that will change the way you live in your house. Now you need help making those ideas a reality. There are two categories that help falls into: Drawings and Material Selections...
Drawings
There are 3 types of drawings to choose from:
Material Selections
I'll walk you through the selections process, discussing the pros and cons of different materials along the way. When we're done, you'll have a complete palette of materials to pass along to your contractor.
NOTE: I do not source, or provide material. I will specify materials based on what your contractor has access to.
Pricing
Drawings
There are 3 types of drawings to choose from:
- Bid Set - a set of drawings (plans and elevations) that will accurately convey the intention of the design. You can print or email these drawings to contractors, who can then give you quotes.
- Permit Set - after finding a contractor, your project might require a permit prior to getting started. Your contractor can use this set of drawings to submit with a permit application (if structural changes are being made, you will need to hire a structural engineer to certify the drawings).
- Construction Set - a more detailed set of drawings for your contractor to build from (if you opt for the material selections service, a material schedule will be added to the construction set).
