Many architects would listen to their clients, identify the problem, and offer a doorway to the most available solution. While this may seem good enough in the moment, we use a different approach that not only provides a fuller solution, but often get ours clients excited about their home in ways they didn't think possible. With decades of experience in home design, our team has developed a skill that goes beyond drafting plans: We see what a lot of professionals may miss, whether it’s the follow-up questions that should be asked or the full possibilities for redesigning a space. And when we can see the fuller picture, we can offer more options, more doorways to the design that will help our clients live happier at home. Through our experiences, we’ve learned that what clients ask for is usually just the tip of proverbial the iceberg and unfortunately, many home design firms will stop right there; they’ll give you the open-concept kitchen you requested and sketch out the extra bedroom but they’ll miss the opportunity to get to know the deeper needs under the ask and the “hidden” options that fulfill more of these needs. This is a kind of drawn out way of saying we work differently. When we walk into a space, we’ve learned to see the “problems” as potential. We notice what’s not being said when a homeowner describes what is or isn’t working and we ask the right questions. What space in the home goes unused—and why? Where’s your storage area? Can take a look upstairs? While we're at it can we also check out the basement? Sometimes clients wonder why we’re asking to see areas unrelated to the desired renovation area or what a storage room has to do with a kitchen. A great architect knows that open-concept or not, these areas, and the underlying needs, are all connected! These are the kinds of insights that allow us to offer ideas our clients may not even know are options. Sometimes that means offering a layout they didn’t know existed. Sometimes it means challenging the assumption that more square footage is the only solution. And almost always, it means not only transforming a space but more importantly how you live in it. To be real with you, this is what sets us apart from other home design firms. We’re not just good architects, we’re partners in aligning your home with what matters most to you, one design decision at a time. Ready to explore the options "hidden" within your home?
